Over 50 Knights attended this Special
meeting, when, all the required business being completed, they retired
early to dinner to hear a talk on the work of the St John of
Jerusalem Eye Hospital by the Hospitaller, Anthony Chigwell. The
assembled Knights were given a great insight into the aims of the
charity and the difficulties they had to cope with, working with
very underprivileged people, in a very dangerous part of the world.
After a number of questions from
the Knights had been answered, the Provincial Prior, R.E.Kt. Brian
Blanchard, thanked Anthony for his talk and presented him with a
cheque for £500 from the Knights Templar Province of Hertfordshire.
This continues the support given to our main charity by the Preceptories
and Knights in the Province, which the Provincial Prior is anxious
for us to maintain.
