St Georges Dinner
Our Annual celebration took place at our usual venue of Halsey Hall, Cheshunt on Sunday 10th April 2011, earlier than normal due to Easter Sunday falling on St George's Day.
Although the tickets sold more slowly than in previous years, such is the popularity of this event that almost all of the 154 tickets were sold. Those that responded promptly were rewarded with another celebration of England and our Patron Saint. From Phil Hoy’s stirring excerpt from Shakespeare’s Henry Vth, through the unique graces of John Paternoster and the parade and dubbing of the Olde Roast Beef by the Provincial Prior, the evening climaxed with our own version of the Last Night of the Proms.
