Crossed Swords 10th Anniversary Meeting

Wednesday 6th May 2009 was a doubly special day for the Crossed Swords Preceptory No.618 and their Eminent Preceptor E.Kt. Richard (Dick) Machin PProvReg, for not only was it the tenth anniversary of the Preceptory, but also the 70th birthday of E.Kt. Dick.

it turned out to be a very happy occasion for this unique Preceptory (membership is open only to past and present members of the Provincial Prior's Bodyguard) with a well loved Founder in the person of E.Kt.A.C. (Tony) Chalkley being Installed in the Chair. To the visitors, the special bonding of the members, was very evident, as was their respect for E.Kt. Tony. The Preceptory was honoured with the presence of the Provincial Sub Prior and member, E.Kt. A. T. (Tony) Lapsley.

A splendid Festive Board followed which included a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday" to both the Preceptory and E.Kt. Dick.

(Sadly E.Kt. Dick passed away on 14th June 2009)
